The Schindler Ranch offers unparalleled views of the Beaverhead Mountain Range and over 2 miles of private fishing on the famous Big Hole River.

Greenbridges began managing the 3,094 acre Schindler Ranch in 2005. The property is located in the Big Hole Valley, which is surrounded by the scenic Beaverhead and Pioneer mountain ranges, and is made up of irrigated meadow and aspen groves bisected by a two mile stretch of the majestic Big Hole River. It is a quarter of a mile from the Beaverhead-Deerlodge National Forest, the largest National Forest in the state of Montana

 Located in Southwestern Montana

The Schindler ranch is about 3 miles south of the small community of Jackson Hot Springs and is surrounded by ranching neighbors including the Dooling ranch, a recent Nature Conservancy easement grantor.

Greenbridges has made a lot of progress in its first year of managing the Schindler Ranch. With the support of the EPA and the NRCS we moved the feedlot and calving barn to a location off the river reducing both runoff and livestock pressure on the riparian habitat. We have joined the Montana Fish Wildlife and Parks CCAA Agreement (Candidate Conservation Agreement with Assurances). In doing so we completed several improvements to our irrigation system to benefit the endangered Fluvial Arctic Grayling. To reduce stream bank degradation we installed a bridge over the River and watering troughs for the cattle. We have partnered with the Big Hole Watershed Committee to do some streambed restoration projects. In the future Greenbridges would like to do additional restoration in partnership with the NRCS and conservation organizations and agencies to restore existing wetlands and riparian habitat.

The Schindler Ranch has a variety of habitat ranging from the Big Hole River and Hamby Creek wetlands to the gentle rolling hills adjacent to the Forest Service. Recreational opportunities abound in this pristine wilderness, and include, hiking, snowmobiling, hunting, and fishing. The Big Hole River is one of Montana's most famed fisheries and we are doing our part to keep it that way.
